On Oct. 23, SkyDrive welcomed Anna Wang, principal officer of the U.S. Consulate Nagoya, to its Nagoya Airport office to discuss the commercialization of eVTOL aircraft (*1) and bilateral cooperation between Japan and the United States.

During the meeting, SkyDrive presented its latest development progress and commercialization initiatives, including operational use cases distinct from other aircraft manufacturers, as well as the certification process with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Principal Officer Wang expressed support for facilitating coordination with relevant agencies to accelerate deployment and promoting business initiatives in the United States. The participants also engaged in dynamic discussions on the medium- to long-term potential for deploying next-generation advanced air mobility.

The U.S. Consulate Nagoya has shown sustained interest in SkyDrive since former Principal Officer Matthew Cenzer visited the Toyota Test Field in April 2023. This meeting marked Principal Officer Wang’s second visit to the Nagoya Airport office following her initial visit in October 2024, reflecting steadily deepening ties with U.S. government stakeholders.

SkyDrive will continue to strengthen partnerships with government agencies and corporate partners in Japan and the United States, advancing toward safe, reliable commercial eVTOL operations and the widespread adoption of next-generation air mobility.
